DESIGN YOUR COURT
When it comes to building a new sports court or refreshing your existing court, there are multiple design and functionality options to consider.
The size of the court we build will depend on the space, among other factors. As your partner, our Pro Court Professionals will work with you to make sure the dimensions fit the space you have to build on and will serve your needs.
That being said, here are some guidelines to help you get a general idea of space requirements and court sizes:

COURT FOUNDATION
The court foundation is the backbone of a sports court. It provides all the structure of the court, and it is the most important part of the court, as everything else is built upon the foundation. Below you will see the standards that we use when performing site preparation and laying the court foundations.
Site preparation:
- Clearing the court area of any organic material
- Grading the area for proper drainage
- Laying 4”- 6” of double crushed DOT stone or crushed limestone
- Base rock is compacted to approximately 95%
Concrete foundation:
- Lay a vapor barrier over the top of the stone
- Build the forms for the concrete slab and footers for the court hardware
- Pour the 4” fiber infused concrete slab and footers
- Allow 30 days to fully cure before continuing to the next step of building the court
Asphalt foundation:
- Lay 2” of asphalt, compacted to 1 ½”
- Cut in and pour footings for the court hardware
- Allow 15 days to fully cure before continuing to the next step of building the court
The following table will help you to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the different foundation types:
